Halloween has become an international event that has provided a great theatrical party platform for many people across the world. Mwezi Arts has engaged graphic and performing Artists and a technical crew working on transforming the theatre for a memorable set and create acts that will let you explore a perfect Halloween experience. Dubbed Halloween Night, the event is a theatrical party night with music, impros, games, costumes, face painting, cash bar, BBQ and snacks.
The show will feature Lilongwes top rock Music Band “Moto Buu” and will be hosted by the comic Halloween character of Neil “Maria” Nayar and a music hype from DJ Chirag while the audience engage in Halloween improvisations, games and fun. The event team is totally engaged in artistic creations for different set elements that include, special lighting, theatre extracts, sets and props, music performance, games and competitions and killer surprises will be all over.
The event will be at Madsoc Theatre starting with a costume building session led by Sadia Mustafa (www.bymafrika.com )on Sunday 26 October at 14:00hrs (free entrance, cash bar open) and the main party on Halloween Night on 31 October from 18:30 Hrs. till late paying only MK2000 for the entrance (only) ticket. Tickets are sold at the theatre on the costume making day or at the entrance. You may prepare your costume at home without attending the costume building day and you are still welcome to join the party. A body painting artist will be there to rescue those who don’t have a physical costume or mask or just to change or add elements to your looks.Don’t miss the opportunity to dress your best Halloween costume and be the actor in the theatre and play your own character among characters while Beer Festing all night long.

November's line up of events are exciting with Nanzikhambe Theatre's play “Story of A Tiger” by Dario Fo which is back by public demand, South Africa based Malawian Jazz Maestro “Chris Kele” is on tour coming back home for an exclusive performance accompaned by Agorosso and Walikho Makhala, Teen Stage continues with a Movie and dance party then the launch of the Artistic Library. Mwezi has invested in material and seeked support from partners and well wishers towards the first step of the Artistic Library project. The Library is essential to our objective to provide a platform for training and exposure to artists as we launch the Artistic Library Madsoc Theatre on Sunday 23 November From 14:00Hrs to 16:00Hrs. Entrance is by donation in cash or kind towards library material and sustainability.
The library facility will provide space, print media and electronic materials and tools, training workshops and forums for artists and the public in general to have access to information and systems that increase their knowledge, smooth researches and assist their social and artistic development. Members will have free access to WiFi, books, hand outs, DVDs, CDs, Scripts on theatre, Music, languages, Stage design and Lighting, Costumes, Novels, projection, and pay a small fe for printing and copying, props and instruments, events etc. The Library will be open 3 days a week from 9:30AM to 18:30PM and thus Sunday, Monday and Tuesday to allow a conjusive library environment and flow of other activities at the theatre. Access to the library will be by quarterly membership of MK 10 000 (per 3 months X 4 for annual membership) and or pay a daily fee of MK1 000. Part of the material support was received from Aktion Afrika through the Theatre Roots project initiated by Mwezi Arts and Theatre Konstanz (German). We are still seeking donation and support for this initiative to increase our material, activities and services to the targeted beneficiaries. “The source for artistic literacy”
